April, 2013, The Board of Commissioners of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (Authority), under the leadership of Commission Chair John Avalos, awarded the Executive Director recruitment contract to The Hawkins Company. The San Francisco County Transportation Authority (Authority) is a sub-regional transportation planning, programming and funding agency for San Francisco. Established in 1989, the Authority is a separate legal entity from the City and County of San Francisco, with its own staff (32FTE’s), budget ($170.5 million, including $160.6 million for capital), operating rules, policies, board (governing board consists of the eleven members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors), and committee structure. The Authority selected The Hawkins Company because of its extensive background in public sector recruiting and its National Transportation Specialty Practice headed by Daphne Le Blanc. Ms. Le Blanc, said, “This is one of the top transit leadership post in California and we are delighted that the Authority selected our team to work with them on this important recruitment.
