With the assistance of The Hawkins Company, Elizabeth Parker and Leah Wilson have been hired, by the Board of Trustees, as CEO and COO, respectively
Elizabeth Rindskopf Parker, former dean of the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, is the Bar’s new CEO and will report to the bar’s board of trustees and carry out its policies. She also will lead a senior management team responsible for a variety of programs at the State Bar, which oversees admissions, discipline and regulation of 253,000 lawyers. Joining Ms. Parker will be Leah Wilson, who will serve as the organization’s Chief Operating Officer and the Bar’s second in command. Ms. Wilson was Alameda County’s Superior Court executive officer.
Parker “has stellar credentials, having successfully led many large, complex organizations,” State Bar president Craig Holden said in a news release. “I am confident (she) will be highly regarded by both our stakeholders and employees. She will have an immediate impact in helping increase our focus on public protection, improving the delivery of legal services, and enhancing our accountability.”
As the COO, Leah Wilson will work closely with Parker and oversee the budget, personnel, facilities, information technology and other key operational areas. “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as the State Bar’s first chief operations officer and tackle head-on the operations issues facing the organization,” Wilson said in a news release.
“The board is pleased to welcome a talented and innovative administrator with experience in addressing the fiscal, programmatic and organizational cultural issues that often define an organization’s success,” State Bar president Craig Holden said in a news release.
