September 2016–The California State Bar has awarded The Hawkins Company with a contract to recruit a new Chief Trial Counsel (CTC).  With nearly 165,000 active members, and over 223,000 members, in the State Bar of California, the CTC is the chief enforcement officer for the attorney discipline system of the largest state bar in the nation.  The State Bar’s attorney discipline system is designed to protect the public, the courts and the profession from attorneys who violate the professional standards that govern attorney conduct in California. The position will be appointed by the State Bar Board of Trustees and is subject to Senate Confirmation for a four-year term with an option for reappointment for an additional four-year term.

Bar President David Pasternak has assigned board Treasurer Danette Meyers and Trustee Renee LeBran to lead the recruitment process in partnership with The Hawkins Company.  Bill Hawkins, Brett Byers and Tisa Jones will staff this very important leadership recruitment for the State Bar.
